The Samyukta Kisan Morcha has organised another Mahapanchayat against Centre’s three farm laws on Sunday in Muzzafarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, and Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait said a huge number of people will be attending the event with him.

According to Kisan Morcha, from protest sites at the Delhi borders, 400-500 farmers will leave for the MahaPanchayat. The farmers are leaving in shifts in buses from closed borders respectively. 2,000 farmers are expected to reach Muzaffarnagar from Punjab.

Farmers from Haryana, Kerala, Maharashtra and others parts of India are also rumoured to join in. Rakesh Tikait has already denied political motivation in protests. While addressing Media Rakesh Tikait said “This MahaPanchayat is not just linked to elections. Elections are after six months. In UP, farmers are facing hardship. The sugarcane rate hasn’t gone up since last 2016. The Centre has increased it by five rupees, five paise per kilogram.Electricity rates are also highest in UP. Are you insulting farmers?”

Rakesh Tikait said “I had pledged ‘bill wapsi nahi, toh ghar wapsi nahi’. I’m not going home until the centre take these bills back. I will keep surrounding Delhi. If they stop us reaching there at Panchayat. We will Break and Reach”. 18 more MahaPanchayats are planned in Uttar Pradesh.

Rakesh Tikait said it was call of Sanyukta Kisan Morcha to go Muzaffarnagar and attend MahaPanchayat.
