New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all to meet US President Joe Biden on his visit to the United States during the last week of September. This will be PM Modi’s first US in-person meet and US visit since President Joe Biden assumed office early this year in January 2021.
The two leaders have met virtually earlier on three occasions, the Quad summit in March, the climate change summit in April, and the G-7 summit in June this year. According to media reports, PM Modi will travel first travel to Washington DC and later to New York during his visit that is getting scheduled from September 22 to September 27.
PM Modi’s visit is unique in many ways as it is taking place after the Taliban is all set to return to Afghanistan, The terror group is all set to form the government after 20 years. So, PM and President may talk on the same and seek more ways to strategize ways to tackle China.
Earlier, Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla met top Biden administration officials in Washington DC, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Deputy Secretary Wendy Sherman. Substantial discussions were held to improve bilateral ties, regional and global issues like the current situation in Afghanistan.
