BJP begins ‘Prabuddh Sammelan’ for UP assembly polls in 18 cities


New Delhi: To garner up Brahmin Votes in Uttar Pradesh, the State Unit of BJP has started meeting intellectuals aka Prabuddh Sammelan in 18 cities from 5th September. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the first meeting in Varanasi, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya addressed such a meeting in Kanpur and Swatantra Dev Singh in Ayodhya.

The leaders during their speeches underlined the fact that ‘BJP takes care of all castes irrespective of their numbers in region’ Subrat Pathak, general secretary of BJP has also stated that this sammelan should not be driven for one caste factor only.

The sammelan started after BSP’s (Bahujan Samaj party) and SP’s (Samajwadi Party) race for Brahmin votes. For example, SP has promised for installation of statues of Lord Parshuram, a Brahmin sage and Mayawati is doing a Press conference daily highlighting Brahmin’s.

While addressing Sammelan, Swatantra Dev Singh lashed out at opposition parties in UP. Singh said one must not forget how former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1966 ordered firing on sadhus and pandits, who gathered around Parliament and Mulayam Singh in 1990, ordered firing on the devotees of Lord Ram in Ayodhya.

BJP highlighted Lord Rama and Hindu Nationalism. Swatantra said, “Bullets were fired on India’s culture and ideology of nationalism. Entire India believes in the faith of Lord Ram. He resides in each and every bit of this place, in 2007, the Congress government refused Ram and Ram Setu’s existence. Terms like Hindu terror were coined.”

BJP’s Mahila Morcha Chief, Indu Bala Goswami highlighted the importance of women in strengthening the organization. “We have to take the organization’s message to the masses and assure our return to the power again.” Elections are bound to happen in Uttar Pradesh in 2022.
