Karnal Prepares for next ‘MahaPanchayaT’; sec144 imposed


New Delhi: Days After ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ in Muzzafarnagar, UP. Now, Karnal is preparing for another Mahapanchayat. Where farmers are wowing to call against BJP. Karnal is the hometown of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. On 30th August, farmers here called for an indefinite gherao of the government’s Mini Secretariat from 7th September, i.e. today.

The call taken out by Samyukta Kisan Morcha, demanding registration of FIR against officers who ordered a lathi charge on agitators during their protest against a BJP event in Karnal earlier on, August 28. Farmer leader Subhash Gurjar told media, “Morale of brothers is high after our energized show in Muzaffarnagar and barricades have been already put up to prevent farmers from entering Karnal.”

Seeing the Tensing situation, 40 companies of forces, including 10 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) are deployed in the town. Internet services have been restricted from Monday afternoon to Tuesday night in Kurukshetra, Karnal, and Neighboring cities. Deputy Commissioner of Karnal has Imposed Section 144 of CrPC to restrict the strong movement of people.

ADGP Navdeep Singh Virk elaborated these arrangements in Karnal. He said, “The objective of these arrangements is to maintain public peace and order and prevent any kind of violence. The functioning of traffic and public transport system should not be compromised and public property should not be harmed.”

Haryana Home Minister, Anil Vij has directed ADGP. Navdeep Singh Virk to be present in Karnal calculate the situation and ensure the peaceful conclusion of the event. Strict action as per law will be taken against those trying to disturb the law and order of the state.
