According to Morning consult’s survey of approval ratings. PM Modi’s approval rating has improved slightly and touched 70% which is highest amongst 13 world leaders. PM Modi leads ahead of US President Joe Biden, Australian PM Scott Morrison, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Canada PM Trudeau and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Morning consult is an American Intelligence Firm. The survey body calculates approval and disapproval rating based upon seven-day moving average of all adults in a given country with a margin of error of between 1-3 %(+,-). Survey is done through online interviews mostly, approximately 2,126 Indians were sampled for the data on India.
The approval rating of PM Modi dropped to 63% in May 2021, which is lowest since his tenure began due to outbreak of second wave of COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and same ratings were 83% in April 2020. Hence, PM Modi’s disapproval rating was peaking in May 2021.
It has come down as the pandemic situation in the county has improved. But, the fear of third wave looms the country and his approval ratings may suffer again.
