Union Minister Sanjeev Balyan has said, that the ‘farmer’s protests against three agriculture laws are turning political and Farmers should make sure that opposition parties do not overtake them for their own political agenda. The statement has come after a ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ was held in Muzzafarnagar, UP on Sunday against the three farm laws passed by the Centre.

The event witnessed participation from various political parties and they declared that they will campaign against the BJP in the upcoming assembly elections.

Protests are continuously going on different borders of the national capital since November 26, 2020, against three new farm laws that are: Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act 2020, the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020. And Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act 2020.

Farmer leaders and the Centre held several rounds of talks before the 26 January Violence. On the talks, Sanjeev Balyan said “We want to restart talks between farmers and government. The real issues of farmers should be discussed. Farmers should not return home empty-handed. Instead of repealing laws. They should try getting the laws amended in their wish.”

Sanyukta Kisan Morcha, an umbrella of Farmer group protesting has demanded Sanjeev Balyan, to come in favour of Kisan and go against the party line. On This, Sanjeev Balyan Said “Fate of BJP is in public’s hand. They understand more what is going on They will only see the flags of other parties at protests.”
