New Delhi: BJP is planning a 3-week long campaign to boost the party and govt. prospects amongst voters after the devastating second wave. The drive is significant as it is timed with Prime Minister Modi’s 71st birthday (September 17) and his life of 20 years as a public administrator (October 7, 2001).
Since the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi has been face and kingpin of almost all major political campaigns by BJP with all flagship and social welfare schemes on his back.
Earlier, the party used to mark his birthday as “Seva Saptah” i.e. “Week of Work”. But, this year it has been widened as “Seva our Samarpan Abhiyan.” i.e. “Work and Dedication Abhiyan”.
The goal this time is also to restore the lost faith in BJP due to the devastating second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, ahead of crucial Assembly elections early next year. With the second wave behind, 70 crore people have already received at least the first dose of the anti-COVID vaccine, the party hopes the campaign restores faith in Party.
Some of the key activities designed by party workers and discussed with BJP Chief JP Nadda include, Distribution of 14 crore ration bags, each with a picture of PM for the 5 kg per person ration under PM Garib Kalyan Yojana, Pushing videos of beneficiaries thanking Modi for his help during the pandemic, Identification of 71 spots in rivers for clean-up and Videos thanking Modi for Covid vaccination by those getting vaccinated.
Many more such events are planned. After the second wave, PM on his part redesigned his Cabinet to signal a refresh and a reset. However, these changes were not felt due to the deadlocked Parliament session.
