Actor Arvind Trivedi Who Played Ravan In 1970’s Ramayana Died Of A Heart Attack

Veteran entertainer Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravan in Ramanand Sagar's 1987 famous TV series Ramayan, died at age 82.

New Delhi: On Tuesday night, Veteran entertainer Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravan in Ramanand Sagar’s 1987 famous TV series Ramayan, died at age 82. Trivedi was experiencing age-related diseases. His cause of death is a heart attack. 

Trivedi’s nephew Kaushaubh Trivedi affirmed the entertainer’s demise, “Arvind uncle was not keeping well and his health further deteriorated in the last couple of years. He passed away on Tuesday night around 9.30 pm after suffering a heart attack. He was 82 years old. He went peacefully at his home in Kandivali (Mumbai), surrounded by his family.”

On Wednesday morning, the actor was cremated at Dahanukar Wadi Cremation ground which is in Kandivali region in Mumbai. Sunil Lahri, who played the part of Lakshman in 1970’s Ramayan, paid a tribute to the late entertainer on his Instagram quoting, “Bahut dukhad Samachar hai ki Hamare Sabke Pyare Arvind bhai (Ravan of Ramayan) Ab Hamare bich Nahin Rahe Bhagwan Unki Atma ko Shanti De…I am speechless I lost father figure, my guide, well wisher & gentleman.”

Arvind Trivedi, after acquiring success with TV series Ramayana, likewise featured in Doordarshan shows like ‘Vikram Aur Betaal.’ He was an excellent Gujarati actor for more than 4 decades. He was the acting chairman of the Central Board for Film Certification from the year 2002 to 2003.
