New Delhi: A 68-year-old Kashmiri Pandit businessman leading one of Srinagar’s prominent medical stores was among the three civilians being shot dead by terrorists on Tuesday. The number of casualties in J&K terror attacks this month is five in just four days.
Owner of Bindroo Medicate Makhan Lal Bindroo in Iqbal Park was shot four times in the abdomen as terrorists fired with pistol from point-blank range after barging in the pharmacy. He was declared dead by the SMHS Hospital. Within an hour of the attack, terrorists shot down a bhelpuri vendor residing from Bhagalpur, Bihar at Alamgari Bazar. The deceased man was identified as Virender Paswan. In the third attack of the day, terrorists lethally injured the Bandipora taxi association president, Mohammad Shafi Lone at Shahgund Hajin. The doctors cannot manage to save him.
The responsibility of the three attacks was linked to Pakistan-backed TRF, an affiliate of Lashkar-e-Taiba which has been active in Kashmir since last year.
Bindroo was a respected person beyond his community as he stood firm during the Kashmiri Pandit exodus in the early 90s and stayed and did his business in Srinagar.
