6 CRPF personnel injured in Raipur railway station blast

A box carrying detonators fell down accidentally while the CRPF jawans were shifting the supplies at Raipur railway station.

New Delhi: Around six Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were reported injured in a blast at Raipur railway station on Saturday morning.

CRPF’s jawans of 211 battalion were heading towards Jammu by a specific train when the grenade, which was kept inside the cartridge box.

“A minor explosion was recorded in a special train of CRPF at Raipur railway station around 6.30 am today. The train was heading to Jammu from Jharsuguda (Odisha),” Prashant Agrawal, Raipur Superintendent of Police stated.

Around 29 detonators went off and exploded, due to which three battalion personnel were injured and rushed to the hospital. Two of the personnel have been released after first aid.

“The explosion occurred during the shifting of a container carrying detonators and HD cartridges. While shifting the container in train, it accidentally slipped in coach number-9, which led to the blast,” Agrawal stated.

The top officials of CRPF have been reached the hospital, according to the reports.
