New Delhi: Honsla Rakh broke the box office records, becoming the highest opening Punjabi movie ever to collect 2.55 crore nett all over India overthrowing the 2.43 crore nett of film Shadaa. The collections in Delhi and UP has smashed the records by a difference.

The movie made 66 lakhs nett in Delhi / UP which is around 90% more than what has been seen for a Punjabi film and that includes films released before the pandemic. It has set a new target in Delhi / UP but this maybe a one off as its unlikely a Punjabi film can release in this way in Delhi city when Hindi films are also being screened. Rajasthan added another 6 lakhs nett while other circuits gave abother 7-8 lakhs nett.

Honsla Rakh should continue its strong run as Delhi city as its an urban Punjabi film. Overall it is sure to do great business but where it gets will depend on where it settles post the Dusshera holiday in Punjab and especially the smaller centres. The main cities are sure to do huge business.

The top Punjabi openers are as follows. Both Shadaa and Carry On Jatta 2 were non holiday while Honsla Rakh was a Dusshere release but the capacity restrictions equals it out.
