J&K: Militant encountered in Pulwama operation

New Delhi: An unidentified militant in an ongoing cordon and search operation Pulwama, south Kashmir has been killed, taking a tally of militants to 12 since October 8 in following encounters.

The militant was killed in a proceeding encounter on Saturday in Drangbal, Pampore hamlet in Pulwama district, an official said.

“The operation was started at night”, J&K police stated.

Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police stated a top LeT commander, Umar Mushtaq Khan, who was included in the killing of two police officers at Baghat in Srinagar, was pinned down in the Pampore encounter.

Mushtaq Khan was currently named among the top 10 militants in Jammu and Kashmir.
