IAF Mirage 2000 trainer aircraft crashes in MP’s Bhind, pilot injured

New Delhi: An Indian Air Force trainer aircraft crashed in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district on Thursday. The pilot has sustained several injuries in the accident but is safe, Manoj Kumar Singh, Bhind superintendent quoted in his statement.

 “An IAF Mirage 2000 aircraft experienced a technical malfunction during a training sortie in the central sector this morning. The pilot ejected safely. An inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident,” the IAF stated.

A video of the incident site showed the wreckage of the crashed aircraft in Mankabad village in Bhind. Smoke was seen from the half-buried trainer jet’s debris in the field. In another video chief pilot, Abhilash was seen gliding down from the aircraft with a parachute, being safely ejected.

Locals gathered near the accident site after the explosion sound. The district police and Air Force officials rushed to the crash site following the received information.
