Pune: Airline staff booked for stealing from passengers

New Delhi: An airline company staff has been booked for allegedly stealing valuables belonging to a woman passenger from Pune of worth Rs 1.4 lakh, who boarded the flight to San Francisco. The employee was arrested for criminal breach of trust.

The woman is a resident of Yerwada and is a dietitian, who registered the FIR regarding the issue at Yerwada police station on Tuesday.

The 45-year-old woman recently travelled with her daughter to San Francisco, USA. She returned to Pune on October 3, police official stated.

While returning, she handed over two carry bags to a staff member of the airline company. The complainant later found out that some of her valuables, including gifts, perfumes, clothes and other items were missing, according to the police report. She then reached out to Pune City Police and lodged a complaint of criminal breach of trust against the airline company staff.
