New Delhi: Six civilians have been injured on Tuesday in a grenade attack in Bandipore district in Jammu and Kashmir, people familiar with the incident stated. They added that the attack was aimed at the security forces that happened in the Sumbal bridge area.

The injured civilians have been rushed to the hospital. The security forces have been deployed at the incident site.

A civilian was killed on Sunday in the cross-fire after the terrorists ambushed and attacked a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) battalion in Shopian district. The incident fired strong reactions from the political mainstream parties in Kashmir, demanding a probe for it.

The toll rose to 11 causalities this month in target killing civilians, mostly non-locals in J&K.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has discussed several security issues in a meeting with state police and central armed police forces.
