Veteran BJP leader LK Advani Turns 94 Today


New Delhi: Former deputy prime minister and BJP’s longest-serving president L K Advani turned 94 on 8th November. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union HM Amit Shah, and many other leaders greeted him and praised his contributions to the country and the party.
Prime Minister Modi Tweeted, “Birthday greetings to respected LK Advani Ji. Praying for his long and healthy life. The nation will always remain indebted to him for his numerous efforts towards empowering people and enhancing our cultural pride.” 

PM Modi personally visited and extended birthday greetings to the veteran leader, Defence Minister Singh also hailed Advani as an inspiration and guide. Rajnath said, “Advani Ji is among those most respected leaders whose scholarship, farsightedness, and intellect are acknowledged by everyone.” 

LK Advani was born in Karachi and is a dominant leader who is called for BJP’s rise as a major national political party. LK Advani was the leader of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement in the early ’90s, spearheaded the party and its forerunner Jana Sangh for decades along with former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

During AVP’s tenure, LK Advani served as Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister from 1999-2004. Advani ran for PM ship in 2009. However, he only garnered 116 out of 543 Lok Sabha Seats. He has also been as leader of the opposition.
