Cabinet Committee Recommends Winter Session from 29 November

New Delhi: After 2 years, the annual winter session of parliament is all to commence as The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) has recommended the Winter Session of Parliament be held from November 29 to December 23, as per the media reports.

The session is rumored to have 19 sittings with Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha following the Covid-19 protocols in place. The sittings may happen at 100% attendance as before.
The Winter Session for FY21 was canceled last year due to the pandemic, but Parliament met for Budget Session and Monsoon Session this year.

However, the productivity of the parliament dropped in the previous two sessions as the Opposition demanded a debate on the Pegasus snoop gate matter and repeal of three farm laws roared in parliament, the issue may continue in this session as well.

But, This session falls before the assembly elections due in early 2022. Hence, Political tussle and legislature will be related to those as well.
According to the officials, The Parliament will function normally but with Covid protocols in mind as the individuals are vaccinated.
