New Delhi: Lava reveals the Agni 5G – the “first Indian 5G smartphone” that was “completely conceived and made in India”. This phone will be in the market for INR 20,000, though during the pre-booking phase it is currently down to INR 18,000.
The 5G is powered by Dimensity 810, a 6 nm chipset with two Cortex-A76 cores, six A55 and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. A 5G modem in anticipation of India’s 5G rollout. The chip will be running stock Android 11 with 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB storage and a MicroSD slot with two SIM slots.
The Lava Agni 5G comes with a large screen 6.78” IPS LCD with a 90 Hz refresh rate. It has a 1,080 x 2,460 px resolution (20.5:9) and is capped by a 2.5D sheet of Gorilla Glass 3. The fingerprint reader is mounted on the side, face unlock will also be available via the 16 MP front camera.
Four cameras deck the rear, starting with a 64MP main camera with 0.7µm pixels, an f/1.8 aperture and dual-LED flash. This camera can record 1080p video. Additionally, there is a 5MP ultrawide-angle cam (115º), plus two 2MP helpers (macro and depth sensor).
It comes with an immerse battery backup of 5,000 mAh battery. 30W fast charging is offered alongside.
Additional features include a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the bottom and an FM radio receiver. Local connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.1.
The Lava Agni 5G will be available in the market from November 18, and one can reserve the early booking of the phone at Rs 500. The phone will sell through Lava’s official online store as well as Amazon. There is only one colorway yet presented by Lava which is Fiery Blue.
