Afghanistan: Four children injured in landmine explosion in Ghor

Landmines, anti-personal mines and improvised explosive devices left from previous wars killed or injured around 120 civilians every single month on Afghan soil.

New Delhi: Four children in Afghanistan were injured due to a landmine explosion in the western region of Ghor, as explosive and landmines remnants of war progress to pose a great threat to Afghan civilians’ lives.

“The incident took place on Wednesday when children were grazing their sheep in Tasarqi village on the outskirts of provincial capital Firoz Koah,” chairman of provincial health directorate Abdul Satar stated.

The injured children were rushed to a provincial hospital and according to the sources, one of them had serious injuries.

As per the responsibility of the explosion, no group has made any statement yet.
