New Delhi: A seven-member gamer Indian team will be competing in a three-game category tournament starting on Tuesday at the 13th Esports World Championship in Eilat city, Israel.
The Indian gaming representatives, who will be sponsored by MPL Sports Foundation and Sportswear brand Bata will be competing in PES, CS:GO and Tekken7 during the tournament, Esports Federation of India (ESFI) stated in a press release.
The event will be featuring four official game titles named Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Tekken7, eFootball 22 and DOTA 2 and a promoted title, Audition.
“It is a very heartening and encouraging to see these gamers with diverse backgrounds representing India at the biggest stage in the world and I hope we will able to win medals and bring glory for the country,” ESFI President, Vinod Kumar Tiwari quoted.
Seven Asian countries have advanced to the world stage following a series of regional qualification rounds.
India, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, the Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and Philippines are the Asian nations competing in the World Championship.
