New Delhi: In the recently virtually organised summit with United States President Joe Biden, China’s President Xi Jinping claimed China as a peace-loving nation and stated that it never claimed a single inch of land from other countries nor started any war.

“Chinese people have always loved and valued peace. Aggression or hegemony is not in the blood of the Chinese nation,” Xi said to Biden. “Since the founding of the People’s Republic, China has never started a single war or conflict, and has never taken one inch of land from other countries,” claimed Xi, in an attempt to lower down criticism on Beijing being aggressively affirming territorial holds in the areas which are disputed, be it Line of Actual Control (LAC) with India, Japan’s maritime dispute or the South China Sea. Although, Xi stated China will “certainly defend” its sovereignty and dignity at any cost warning that whosoever “plays with fire” over Taiwan’s independence will gradually “get burnt”.
