Rajasthan Reduces Petrol Prices after 13 days of Centre’s decision

The Ashok Gehlot Govt. in late-night announced slashing VAT to make petrol and diesel cheaper by Rs 4 per liter and Rs 5 per liter, respectively, from 17th November. This will cost around Rs 3,500 crore to the state.

New Delhi: After 13 days of the centre’s decision to reduce VAT on petrol and diesel. Due to rising demand, the Rajasthan govt. has now decided to reduce state tax on Fuel Prices to provide respite to the citizens. 
The Ashok Gehlot Govt. in late-night announced slashing VAT to make petrol and diesel cheaper by Rs 4 per litre and Rs 5 per litre, respectively, from 17th November. This will cost around Rs 3,500 crore to the state.
The announcement was made by CM Ashok Gehlot via Twitter, He tweeted, “In the cabinet meeting today, it was unanimously decided to reduce the rate of VAT on petrol/diesel. After this, the rates will be reduced by Rs 4 per litre in petrol and Rs 5 per litre in diesel from midnight tonight.” He tweeted last night. 
Earlier, on 3rd November, The Central Government announced a reduction in excise duty of petrol by Rs 5 and diesel by Rs 10 to bring down fuel rates soaring high in the country.
After which all BJP-ruled states, with congress, ruled Punjab and BJD ruled Odisha also reduced VAT on the fuel prices. 
However, The Rajasthan Govt. had not cut VAT and had demanded a further reduction in central excise duty.
