Parambir Singh to be declared, ‘Absconder’ if no response given: Court

Parambir can be declared ‘Absconder’ in next month or before that. Later, his properties will get seized and subsequently auctioned and he would not be able to avail legal remedies.

New Delhi: On 17th November, A big step has been taken in the Param Bir Singh case as a Mumbai-based court has accepted the Proclamation application filed by the state’s Crime Investigation Department (CID). The application seeks to declare the former Mumbai Police Commissioner as an ‘absconder’. 


Parambir can be declared ‘Absconder’ in next month or before that. Param Bir Singh has four cases of extortion registered against him and is believed to have fled the country.
Parambir Singh was transferred from the post of Mumbai police chief in March 2021 after the arrest of Sachin Waze in the Antilia bomb scare ie. e Mukesh Ambani’s house and also, in the murder of businessman Mansukh Hiran.
However, Param Bir Singh has not been named as an accused in the case of Waze. Yet, he can face the consequences of the Waze’s investigation.
According to sources, Proclamation orders will be attached with Param Bir Singh’s properties, including that in Mumbai and Chandigarh, after which the agency will wait for 30 days. If the former Police Commissioner fails to show up in the 30 days, he will be formally declared as an ‘absconder’. 
Later, his properties will get seized and subsequently auctioned and he would not be able to avail legal remedies.
