South State better in Policing than UP, Bihar: Policing Index 2021

New Delhi: According to IPF Smart Policing Index 2021. Southern states and some in the Northeast performed better in Police activities compared to states in the north, like UP and Bihar. According to the report, the top five states with the highest score on overall policing were Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Assam, Kerala, and Sikkim. Whereas, States like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Punjab ranked lower.
Bihar ranked lowest in the IPF Smart Policing Index 2021, followed closely by Uttar Pradesh. 

The IPF Smart Policing Survey Index is a report done by the Indian Police Foundation (IPF). The survey aims to provide a light on the loopholes and performance of the State Police respectively. 
Prakash Singh, chairman of Indian Police Foundation and former DGP of Uttar Pradesh on the survey said, “The survey is an attempt to assess the performance of various states on Prime Minister’s vision of Smart Policing initiative. In the survey, it was heartening to see 69% of people are satisfied with policing in the country. We hope wherever there are flaws, this survey will motivate states to do better.”
