SC grants protection from arrest to Parambir Singh

New Delhi: After Parambir’s Plea in court, The Supreme Court has granted protection to the former Mumbai police chief after his lawyer said, Parambir is “not absconding, and is in India”. 

The news came after the court asked for his location and denied his protection from arrest. Param Bir Singh’s lawyer advocated, “He does not want to abscond and does not want to run anywhere. but, He faces a threat to his life”. 
The Lawyer added, “The moment he touches the land in Maharashtra, he faces a threat from the Mumbai Police,” after which the court granted him protection from arrest.
The bench consisted of Justices S K Kaul and M M Sundresh, The court issued notices to the Maharashtra government, it’s DGP Sanjay Pande, and the CBI after granting him protection.

Parambir Singh is facing 4 cases with serious allegations against him. 
He was transferred from the post of Mumbai police chief in March 2021 after the arrest of Sachin Waze in the Antilia bomb scare ie. e Mukesh Ambani’s house and also, in the murder of businessman Mansukh Hiran.
However, Param Bir Singh has not been named as an accused in the case of Waze. Yet, he can face the consequences of the Waze’s investigation.
