New Delhi: Union I&B Minister Anurag Thakur did a major attack over Samajwadi Party Chief, Akhilesh Yadav ahead of the UP-assembly elections in 2022. The minister and BJP leader said there was “dange” (riots) in Uttar Pradesh under the SP rule whereas we do “Dangal” (wrestling matches) which are being organized now.
The minister was speaking at the ‘Sansad Khel Mahakumbh’ organized in Baraut, Baghpat district of the poll-bound state. Addressing the event, he said, “If we are giving the youth a chance to progress in sports, then what is wrong? You Akhilesh Jii are complaining that these MPs organize ‘Khel Mahakumbh’. Brother, you orchestrate riots and we organize ‘Dangal’, so what is wrong in it.”
A few days ago, Akhilesh Yadav questioned ‘central government over not giving youth opportunities’ to which Anurag Thakur replied. He added, “I know that the people of Baghpat do not know about riots, they believe in ‘dangal’ only. If a politician promotes sports nothing can be better than this,”
Anurag Thakur is the BJP’s co-in charge for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections slated for early next year. According to him, BJP MP’s have always pushed forward the idea of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. since the Olympics, the country now wants to promote sports and sportspersons and this is what BJP aims for.
