New Delhi: As soon as the Lok Sabha resumed its session after chaos by the opposition, the Centre passed the Farm Laws Repeal Bill, 2021 despite the ruckus by Opposition MPs. The Bill was tabled by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was passed on Monday afternoon within minutes of its introduction
The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the second time till 2.00 pm after ruckus.
The bill was tabled in Rajya Sabha at 2:00 PM and was passed minutes later. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said, “It was the opposition’s demand to repeal these laws, then why are they creating a ruckus when we are fulfilling it. By repealing the farm laws on the same day, we wanted to send out a message.”
On 19th November, PM Modi addressed the nation and announced repealing of the 3 farm laws. The bill was cleared by the Union Cabinet last week. Sanyukta Kisan Morcha has been protesting against the three laws for more than a year in Delhi and its adjoining borders.
