New Delhi: On Thursday, American actor Alec Baldwinin his recent interview told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that he didn’t pull the trigger on a prop gun he was handed on the set of Rust when it went off which led to the killing of a cinematographer. “I didn’t pull the trigger,” Baldwin expressed. “I could never point a gun at anybody and pull the trigger at them. Never.”

It is Alec’s first sitdown interview after the October 21 shooting tragedy on the sets of the bollywood film Rust. Authorities have said Alec Baldwin was told that the gun was safe to use yet continue to investigate how a live round was loaded in the weapon.

On Wednesday, ABC released a clip that shows Baldwin in tears while he was talking about the cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was killed on the set. Director of the movie  Joel Souza was likewise injured in the incident.

He said in light of a question regarding how a live round came on the set: “I have no idea. Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property.”

The interview will air as an hour long show on ABC at 8 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday and stream on Hulu later in the evening

Investigators have depicted “some complacency” in how weapons were taken care of on the Rust set. They have said it is too early to decide if charges will be filed or not. ABC reported a two-hour special show 20/20 will be taking up this matter, and the next week will look at the investigation concerning the shooting in more depth.
