Congress Party Rages against Mamta’s “UPA What?” remark

New Delhi: It was an inevitable fact that the Congress Party will revert to Mamta Banerjee’s remark on The UPA alliance. Yesterday, The West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee drew sharp criticism on the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) citing, it no longer exists.
The CM was in Maharashtra for a visit. During her visit, she met Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar. After the meet, she declared UPA does not exist anymore. The whole debate started when, in a press briefing, she got asked whether Pawar would lead the UPA or not, she said: “What UPA? There is no UPA now. We will decide on it together.”
The Senior Congress leader and Renowned Lawyer Kapil Sibal took a stand for Congress, He tweeted, “Without Congress, The UPA will be a body without a soul” he asserted that it was time to show opposition unity.
Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury lashed at TMC supremo. He said, that the TMC leader is starting “madness” with her comments. Adhir added, “Does Mamata Banerjee not know what UPA is? I think she has started the madness, She thinks the whole of India has started chanting ‘Mamata, Mamata’. But India doesn’t mean Bengal and Bengal alone doesn’t mean India.”.
Maharashtra Congress leader, Balasaheb Tharot went on to say that, Congress had fearlessly fought the BJP government in the last seven years under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. “He and his entire family were subjected to personal attacks by BJP and other parties. Defamatory campaigns were carried out against him, but Rahul Gandhi did not back down.” Sharad and Mamta questioned Rahul over his foreign trips.
