New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party has proposed to the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) that the unvaccinated people shouldn’t be allowed entry to Delhi Metro, malls, bus services, restaurants, cinema halls, monuments, religious places, public places, parks and government offices from December 15.

The proposal advised banning the entry of individuals who are not fully vaccinated to these places from March 31. The state government also suggested incentives like discounts for vaccines or cash prizes.

This proposal has been taken from many European nations, where there is a vaccine passport system further limiting access to unvaccinated people from public places and venues. These nations also offer incentives for individuals to get fully jabbed.

The suggestion is followed to stop the spread of the new coronavirus variant, Omicron, categorised as a ‘variant of concern’ by World Health Organisation (WHO).

The proposal is likely to be brought forward in the upcoming DDMA meeting.
