India reports 8,306 new Covid-19 cases, Omicron tally crosses 20

NEW-DELHI: India registered 8,306 new Covid-19 cases, according to the Health Ministry’s press release in the last 24 hours on December 6. There were 211 new deaths were reported in the country. The active cases in India stood at 98,416 with 8,834 recoveries.

There were 23 cases reported in Kerala in the last 24 hours, the deaths were 161 on Monday. 139 cases were added as per a government order dated September 29 that specified a few more criteria for declaring death due to Covid.

Some of the cases of Omicron variant of Coronavirus came up in India. These states where the cases were reported are Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Delhi. India stands with 21 Omicron cases right now.

7 cases were reported in Maharashtra’s Pune district, in which 6 were found in the same family. In Jaipur, there were 9 cases confirmed, all of them were of those people who attended the same wedding.
