Barcelona out of UEFA Champions League, first knockout proves the fall of Catalans

New Delhi: After a colossal 0-3 defeat by Bayern Munich in the Group stage of the UEFA Champions League, the Spanish giants Barcelona have miserably failed to walk through the tournament’s knockout stages.

This is the fourth time when Barcelona has been knocked out of the group stage of the Champions League and it is the first-ever since 2000/01.

Barcelona entered the contest against Bayern battling Benfica for the second qualifying spot in Group E, although, Bayern Munich had to break no sweat in order to defeat Barcelona.

Manchester United and Young Boys clashed in a 1-1 draw in Group F at the legendary Old Trafford stadium. On the 9th minute of the game, Mason Greenwood scored a howler while Young Boys replied on the 42nd minute by Fabian Rieder’s goal.

ManU stayed at the top in the Group F standings and will be heading forward to the knockout stages very soon.
