Heavy Crowd gathers to pay last respects to CDS Bipin Rawat

New Delhi: At present, A major crowd of civilians has gathered outside the residence of Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat in Delhi to pay their last respects. General Rawat, the nation’s most senior military officer, and first CDS, with his wife and 11 personnel died in an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter crash in Kannur, Tamil Nadu.

The bygone souls will be cremated with full military honors at the Brar Square in Delhi Cantonment. 800+ service personnel will be in attendance for the military funeral of the CDS. Following the Last Post and the Rouse at his house, played by the tri-services buglers, the funeral pyre will be lit by family members. He will be accorded a 17-gun salute, as per laid down protocols.

Politicians and government officials have already started to come to his residence to pay him final tributes. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath arrived at Gen Bipin Rawat’s residence to pay his last respects. Whereas, NSA Ajit Doval, HM Amit Shah, and Rajnath Singh have already done the protocols.

BKU Leader Rakesh Tikait, Nirmala Sitharaman, CJI NV Ramana, LG Anil Vij, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, UK CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Khadge have also paid respects to the CDS and his wife. PM Modi will also do the same in a few hours.
