New Delhi: Brigadier Bhupesh Singh Hada, a Shaurya Chakra Holder, and mountaineer is set to gain the title of the “king” of the Hada Rajputs in Bundi, a princely state in Rajasthan. The Rajput community Hada has chosen the gallant Army personnel as its 26th “king”. He will be crowned as king on ‘Sunday’.
Brigadier Hada was honored with the Shaurya Chakra i.e. India’s third-highest peacetime gallantry for his role in anti-terrorist operations in the year 1999. He was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal for his exceptional work at Siachen in 2019. Besides being a brave of the motherland, Brigadier Hada is a skilled mountaineer and has climbed many great mountain ranges alone.
The decision was taken on 4th December by the appointed committee. But the committee made it clear that the new king would not make claims on properties of the former royal families of Bundi. The “king” is just a ‘titular and ceremonial” head of the community.
