50th Vijay Diwas: PM Modi arrives at National War Memorial; President Kovind present in Dhaka

New Delhi: On 50th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Defeat in Ind-pak war of 1971. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, participated in the Reception Ceremony of ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashaals’ at the National War Memorial in Delhi to mark the 50th Vijay Diwas.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh gave PM a commemorative stamp on the occasion of the 50th Vijay Diwas at the National War Memorial. Last year, PM Modi had lit the Swarnim Vijay Mashaal at the NWM on December 16. The same process was followed this year.

Whereas, President Kovind is in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He participated in the national program of Bangladesh on the occasion of Vijay Diwas. Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid watched the parade at National Parade Ground in Dhaka. President Kovind is attending the program with him as a Guest of Honour.

Rajnath Singh with the help of Twitter tweeted, “On the occasion of ‘Swarnim Vijay Diwas’ we remember the courage and sacrifice of our armed forces during the 1971 war. The 1971 war is the golden chapter in India’s military history. We are proud of our armed forces and their achievements.”
