New Delhi: As the Indian team leaves for South Africa, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is exploring options to respond to Virat Kohli.
Before Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly said, “after the change in the captaincy of the ODI team that the board and selectors had requested Virat Kohli not to leave the T20 captaincy, which Virat did not agree to and the selectors later snatched the ODI captaincy from him. Handed over to Rohit Sharma.”
In a virtual press conference held on Wednesday, Virat Kohli had said that the decision to remove him from the captaincy of the ODI team was given in the selection meeting and he was always available for selection.
Later, another news came from BCCI quoting sources that Kohli was requested not to leave the T20 captaincy in the month of September. But, he deferred.
The situation between BCCI and Virat Kohli seems to be getting escalated.
