Omicron surge: UK saw highest number of COVID cases

New Delhi: Britain registered 78,610 confirmed COVID19 cases, the highest daily rise since the beginning of the pandemic in the nation the previous year.

The arrival of new coronavirus variant ‘Omicron’ has sent cases to peak, with daily tally overtaking the previous number of cases of 68,053 that came out in January at the phase of Alpha variant.
