Sergio Aguero Announces Retirement ; Cites his Heart Condition

Aguero was not seen in the field since the end of October, in his last match, he was taken off during the first half of Barca's draw with Alaves after experiencing chest pain.

New Delhi: Renowned Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero, on 15th December announced his retirement from football at the age of 33. He cites his heart condition as a major reason.
Aguero was not seen in the field since the end of October, in his last match, he was taken off during the first half of Barca’s draw with Alaves after experiencing chest pain.

Aguero in the statement said, “I have decided to stop playing professional football. It is a very hard moment but I am happy with my decision. My health comes first, “
He recovered from Covid in October itself. While playing he rushed to hospital after breathing problems while playing in the Liga draw against Alaves. The club said after he underwent heart tests in November. Aguero said that he won’t be able for the next three months while the effectiveness of treatment was evaluated.
Aguero left Manchester City United with all-time record goalscorer of 260 goals, and with the most goals scored for a single club in Premier League history i.e. 184 goals in 275 appearances.
