New Delhi: on 18th December, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of the Ganga Expressway in Shahjahanpur, UP. This expressway will pass through 12 districts from Meerut to Prayagraj. This expressway will play a pivotal role from the political point of view as the expressway will connect the eastern and western regions of UP.

This expressway will pass through Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. The expressway will also connect the industrial and religious places through which it will pass. This expressway will be connected with the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, with which the distance from Delhi to Prayagraj will also be reduced.

This expressway will start from Bijauli village in Meerut on Meerut-Bulandshahr Road (NH-334) and end near Judapur Dandu village on Prayagraj bypass (NH 19).

As per the PMO, the expressway will boost industrial development, trade, agriculture, tourism, etc. This will also give impetus to the socio-economic development of the region. Once fully constructed, it will become the longest expressway in Uttar Pradesh, connecting the western and eastern regions of the state.
