Severe Cold Wave Hits India, -3 Degree Rajasthan; yellow alert in Uttarakhand

Rajasthan recorded temperatures as low as -3.3 Degrees. IMD also issued A Yellow alert for cold waves in Uttarakhand from December 18 to 21.

New Delhi: Major Parts of North India last night witnessed severe cold wave conditions, with temperatures in some regions dropping below freezing point.

The IMD (India Meteorological Department)  has issued a ‘cold wave’ warning for many parts of Rajasthan. As per IMD, The minimum temperature in most districts of Rajasthan dipped below five degrees Celsius, with the state capital Jaipur recording 4.9 degrees Celsius last night. The minimum temperature dropped to -3.3 degrees Celsius in Fatehpur in Sikar i.e. lowest in the region, while it was -1.1 degrees Celsius in neighboring Churu.

IMD also issued A Yellow alert for cold waves in Uttarakhand from December 18 to 21. According to the IMD, the lowest temperature in the state on Friday was recorded in Ranichauri (-2.7 Degrees ), Mukteshwar (0.2 Degrees), Mussoorie (0.9 Degrees), Pithoragarh (0.9 Degrees), and New Tehri (1.4 Degrees).

Whereas, Delhi Last night experienced heavy cold winds and temperature between 6-7 degrees and it may drop in the coming days.
