Cold Wave: Icy Winds Shiver Northern India, Amritsar Records 0°C,

As per IMD, the severe outbreak of cold winds will continue for two to three days. Due to this, there may be a drop of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the night temperature.

New Delhi: Entire North India including Delhi-NCR is currently shivering due to a cold wave. The mercury has reached minus even in the mountains, mountains, and plains. The Meteorological Department says that in many areas of Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh, snowfall is affecting the plains, due to which the temperature is falling.
In Kashmir, water froze in the pipeline itself. The minimum temperature has dropped below zero degrees Celsius at Amritsar, Punjab. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of severe cold in Uttarakhand for the next few days.

As far as other warnings are concerned, IMD has issued an orange alert over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and East & West Rajasthan for Saturday and Sunday so citizens prepared themselves for the dip in temperatures due to the cold wave and ground frost conditions
In New Delhi, the daytime and nighttime temperatures were around 19°C and 6°C, respectively last night.
JP Gupta, director of the Zonal Meteorological Center at Amausi, said, “there has been a change in the weather due to northwest winds. These airs are not humid. So the cold has increased. At present, the outbreak of cold winds will continue for two to three days. Due to this, there may be a drop of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the night temperature.”
