OIC leaders to be called by Pakistan to discuss Afghan Crisis and Taliban


New Delhi: Pakistan is Going to host the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit Today to discuss the worsening Afghanistan situation and help the war-ravaged country garner humanitarian help as the Afghan economy remains in shambles after the US troops went back home and the Taliban government took over the region.
Pakistan’s main aim is to soften the Taliban’s image globally and boost the global acceptance of their government in Kabul. As per Pakistani media, The summit will have various sessions with a primal focus on Afghanistan. The OIC leaders will discuss ways to mobilize support for providing adequate food, medicine, and shelter to Afghanistan’s People.

Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi confirmed that the motive is to help Afghanistan and the Taliban in one go. He said the message to the OIC gathering is: “Please do not abandon Afghanistan. Please engage. We are speaking for the people of Afghanistan. We’re not speaking to any particular group. We are talking about the people of Afghanistan,”.
