New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and leader of opposition Akhilesh Yadav met at the UP Vidhan Bhawan on Monday. The two leaders smiled and shook hands warmly.
The swearing-in ceremony of the new MLAs was held in the Assembly today during which Akhilesh Yadav and Yogi Adityanath were also present in the House. This was the first meeting of the two leaders after the assembly election results.
As per a Video by News Agency, in which Chief Minister Yogi and his rival Akhilesh Yadav are smiling and shaking hands warmly. Chief Minister Yogi also patted Akhilesh Yadav’s shoulder before moving forward.
During the UP-election campaign, the two leaders had attacked each other fiercely. Akhilesh Yadav had also called CM Yogi Adityanath a “bulldozer Baba”. On this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had taunted him and said ‘Babua’.
On 10th March, BJP had formed the government for the second time in a row in the state by winning a historic victory in the UP elections. Yogi Adityanath was the BJP candidate from the Gorakhpur Sadar’s seat. He won a landslide victory from his seat and under his leadership, the BJP alliance won 273 seats. The SP alliance won 125 seats.
On Monday, Yogi Adityanath and Akhilesh Yadav were sworn in as MLAs. Akhilesh Yadav is the leader of the opposition in the House. He contested the assembly election for the first time. He has won from the Karhal assembly seat and reached the assembly.
